I love the snowflakes; I think this may be my favorite elf adventure to date.  I heard that this particular display took him quite some time.  He had to watch a few You Tube videos to perfect his snowflake design skills.  Aren't they beautiful?

The Most Famous Reindeer of All

 One morning we found antlers and a shiny red nose drawn on the bathroom mirror by our silly elf.

 Reindeer sandwiches are a tradition for us!

 I made these reindeer doughnuts for an after school treat.  They made me laugh because the eyes all seem to give the "reindeer" different expressions.

Reindeer noses have become a tradition for Cherry.  He always brings eight unwrapped chocolate balls and one chocolate ball wrapped in shiny red foil.  Each of the four kids received a little bag of reindeer noses.

More Elf Nonsense

Elves love snow angels, but we don't have any snow, so Cherry made a rainbow jimmmies angel!

 Reagan and Kate were super excited to see a gift wrapped in elf paper!  What could it be?  What great big gift did Cherry bring?

 Reagan was just a tad bit disappointed when she realized it was only her backpack!  HA HA, her face is great!

Even elves have to go potty, and at least they only leave green and red m&ms behind!  Oh Cherry!

Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?

 On the day that Cherry built a "snowman" in our bathroom, I figured we could make a fun day out of snowman building.  We didn't have any snow, so we went with the next best thing - doughnuts!

 I love Reagan's pretzel stick hat!  Very creative.

Yes, Collin built and ate his snowman in his bed; it was just one of those days when he needed a special treat in bed!!

Cherry Returns!

Our elf is back for another season of silliness.  If you are wondering what he has been up to while visiting, here are a few pictures:

He arrived with a paper chain countdown.

Cherry can't make it through a season without drinking our maple syrup; he doesn't go for the real stuff either, he prefers the super sugary syrup!

One morning we found him in the middle of a game of mini marshmallow tic tac toe!

I'm not sure if he had some sort of accident or if he just likes playing with band aids!

Sliding down the banister is fun!  Kate's shoe was filled with elf on the shelf chocolates.

Cherry

On December 23, we woke up to find a marshmallow world created by Cherry.

He made the North Pole with a peppermint stick and marshmallows, crafted the trees out of sugar cones, frosting, marshmallow stars, and nonpareils, the snow was powdered sugar, and the snowmen were marshmallows held in place with a lot of frosting, and decorated with chocolate chips, candy corn noses, and pretzel stick arms.

Cherry's grand finale of the season was this candy sleigh upon which he is seated.  He placed it next to our Little People sleigh reminding us that he would be leaving with Santa to return to the North Pole that evening.

I enjoy Cherry's company and always miss him a little when he leaves.  See you next year, Cherry!

Elf Fun

I thoroughly enjoy Cherry's company, and I'm going to be sad to see him go in a few days.  He just cracks me up.

He's so clever hiding with some of his elf pals in the Rice Krispies box,

 and if you look at the second box of cereal, you might notice another little "elf".

Cherry really enjoys playing with Play-Doh.

 At first I thought that was him sitting right on the table.

 As I looked closer though, I realized he had tricked me with a Play-Doh look alike.  He was really across the room.

Silly elf.

DOUGHNUTS - North Pole Style

We woke up to find Cherry trying to compete with Dunkin Donuts by offering his very own Elf Doughnuts.

It seemed like the perfect day for a North Pole style breakfast.

Christmas Trees

 Cherry started off our Christmas tree theme by using a window crayon to draw a tree on the sliding glass door.  He left some window crayons on the table with directions for the kids to decorate the tree.  They happily obliged.

Kate asked for tomatoes (she calls them "no nos") and cucumber for lunch today.  I was thrilled to create a spur of the moment theme lunch.  The star is cheese.  She ate the whole thing and asked for more.

Reagan, Kate, and I made sweet trees for dessert tonight.  I found this idea at The Artful Parent.

I just arranged the pretzels, poured melted chocolate to fill in the tree, and let the girls decorate the trees with mini m&m's and star marshmallows.

 I placed the baking sheet in the freezer, and the trees were ready to eat in just a few minutes.
