Fun da-middles Review and Giveaway

I haven't had any time to make special after school snacks for the big kids, but last week I remembered a package I had received from My Blog Spark and decided to try baking with a newborn in my arms.

Betty Crocker FUN da-middles are super easy to make (you can watch a video demonstration by clicking here), so it only took a few minutes to prepare them before baking.  Once the ingredients for the cupcake batter are mixed, you simply fill the cupcake liners 1/3 of the way with batter, squeeze some of the cream filling into each cup, and then cover the filling with more batter.  If I can make these while holding a newborn, anyone can make them!

Unfortunately, only T liked these cupcakes.  The flavor just didn't work for the rest of us.  They do come in two other flavors though.  If I could have chosen a flavor, I would have selected the chocolate cupcakes with vanilla cream filling or even the white cupcakes with chocolate cream filling!  We are definitely a chocolate house!!!!

Pajama Winner!!!!

Fun Kids Pajamas - Review and Giveaway!

So often, pajamas I see in stores are cheap, thin, or run small, but not these!  I am so impressed with the quality of both the pajama pants and the nightgown.  They are super soft and comfortable, and they wash well.  They also run true to size!  I requested the sizes C and R normally wear, instead of requesting a bigger size like I often do with pajamas, mostly so that I could comment on whether the sizing was accurate.  As you can see from the photo, C and R have plenty of room in these pajamas!  They were both thrilled with the pajamas and reported that they slept well in them!

Libman Freedom Spray Mop Review and GIVEAWAY

As a reviewer for the Mom Bloggers Club, I recently received a Libman Freedom Spray Mop free from Libman.  Please note that this review is based solely on my experience with the mop and was not influenced by the free product.  Now that the legal stuff is out of the way, let me tell you about my CLEAN FLOORS!!!!!  Woo hoo, I love this new product.  Seriously, I do!

I love convenience cleaning products.  Anything that makes cleaning easier and less time consuming is my kind of product.  You should also know that my LEAST favorite chore is cleaning the floors.  I have to admit that I should do this more often than I do.  Anyway, I used to use the mops that require special solution, batteries, and cleaning pads.  I will never use them again!  The Libman Freedom Spray Mop is so much better because:

• I have the Freedom to choose any cleaning solution I want to put in: my favorite cleaner, plain water, environmentally friendly solution etc. There is a removable bottle for easy filling.
   
• I also have Freedom from costly and wasteful disposable pads; the reusable microfiber pad can be machine washed up to 50 times and it is safe on all flooring surfaces.
   
• I now have Freedom from batteries!  The trigger sprayer allows me to control how much liquid is coming out.  I just grab the mop and go, no heavy messy buckets to lug around. 
   
• This mop is quality manufactured in the USA (Arcola, IL) by a 4th generation family owned company.  This means a lot to me.  I love to buy products manufactured in the USA!!!
   
• The Freedom mop is sold fully assembled in the mop and broom section of your favorite store.  How nice that it does not have to be assembled; seriously, you just grab it, fill it, and clean!

Jumpstart Review and Giveaway

Jumpstart is an award-winning adventure based 3D virtual world that is personalized and imaginative.  It teaches math, reading and more to children ages 3-10.

Jumpstart recently contacted me and offered me the opportunity to try a free membership to their site in exchange for a review.  C and R do not spend much time on the computer, but they do enjoy the educational games they are allowed to play.  They were excited to try something new.

They both enjoyed the time they spent playing on the site, but I have to admit that they were also occasionally frustrated by the site.  The most frustrating thing for them was waiting for games to load.  They are both used to sites where they just click and play with very little or no time waiting for games to load.  Part of the problem for us is that our computer is old, so maybe newer computer users will have less waiting time.

Once I spent some time figuring out the site, I was able to help them navigate through it better and they definitely enjoyed every minute spent on the site. They enjoyed creating their own avatars and unlocking new adventures.  C and R loved the Jumpstart characters more than anything.  I found the educational aspects of the site to be great; there are so many different learning opportunities there.  Also, other than our issue with waiting for games to load, the site is very user friendly.  I think Jumpstart provides a fun learning adventure and we will definitely use the site.

A Frosty Summertime Treat & a Giveaway!

My husband makes amazing beverages (iced tea, iced coffee, smoothies, etc.), and this may be my favorite.

Recipe:

• 11 ounces of coconut water (preferably Vita Coco)
  
• approximately 4 cups of watermelon cut into chunks
• ice
• Blend and enjoy!

This recipe makes 2 - 4 servings.

If you have not tried coconut water, you should. It has more electrolytes than leading sports drinks with 15 times the potassium, has more potassium than two bananas, and is 100% natural! Our favorite brand is Vita Coco because it has the best flavor.

After drafting this post, I decided to contact Vita Coco to see if they would be interested in letting one of my readers try their product, and they said yes!
