Glittery and Tasty Snowmen

Collin and Reagan both did this same craft when they were younger.  It is one of my favorites because it is so unique and the end result is sparkly and just perfect.  Kate loved it because it requires so much glitter!  It also requires a gymnastics leotard apparently.

After all of her hard work, it was time for a snowman snack.

Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?

On the day that Cherry built a "snowman" in our bathroom, I figured we could make a fun day out of snowman building.  We didn't have any snow, so we went with the next best thing - doughnuts!

I love Reagan's pretzel stick hat!  Very creative.

Yes, Collin built and ate his snowman in his bed; it was just one of those days when he needed a special treat in bed!!

Fizzy Snow Dough

Reagan stayed home with a stomach ache today, so I made two batches of snow dough for the girls.
Of course Reagan got her hands right in it, and Kate used a spoon to mix it up.  Here is the recipe I used:
2 cups baking soda
2 TBSP salt
Mix well
Add 1 tsp of dish soap (I used Dawn, but I would think any kind would work)
Mix well
Add 8 TBSP water
If you can form the dough into a ball, then the dough is right.  If it is too dry and crumbly, add more water 1 TBSP at a time until you can mold it into a ball.

Reagan enjoyed making her snowman and decorating him.  I made a snowman for Kate and she added all of the accessories.

Then I filled a squeeze bottle with vinegar and let the girls squeeze it onto their snowmen.

Both girls ABSOLUTELY LOVED this part!!!!!!

Hooray for fun sick days!

A Few More Snowmen

The girls made these coasters yesterday.  Reagan made the two at the top, and Kate made the two at the bottom.

Collin, Reagan, and Kate had snowmen with breakfast today.

We are reading a few snowman books right now too.  Snow much fun!

More Snowman Fun

Reagan is home sick today (she had a bad headache all day yesterday, but seems better today), and I made the girls a snowman parts lunch.

Before school, Ellie and Collin decorated styrofoam cups to look like snowmen.

Kate and Reagan used them for snowman bowling.

We used "snowballs" that were given to us for Christmas by Auntie Cyn and Uncle George, but rolled up socks or pieces of white paper would work too.

Here are two bowling videos that I love:

It's snowing out right now, so who knows, maybe we will get to build a real snowman!

Snowman Fun

There is no snow on the ground right now, but we are making our own snowman fun.

I printed the five little snowmen from The Activity Mom site and taped them to craft sticks.  Kate and I watched the Five Little Snowmen video and kind of sang along.

I saw an idea for a melted snowmen bath on Pinterest.  I thought it was cute, but I knew Kate would not get in the tub with the shaving cream snowmen (she doesn't even like bubbles in her bath), so I put them in our sensory tub instead.

I added a drop of blue food coloring to the water before adding the melted snowmen.

I told Kate she could use her hands, but she chose a spoon instead.  I knew she would.

She was very excited about adding a drop of red food coloring to the water.

She liked that the water then turned purple.

Then she wanted to add more and more food coloring.

It took a while for the food coloring to blend with the shaving cream, so we had a pretty swirly tub of color for a bit.  Kate loved it.

Yesterday, all of the kids enjoyed snowman doughnuts.

I still have plans for snowman bowling and snowy paint.  Hopefully, those happen soon!
