Cookie Moons
We love reading The Moon Might Be Milk by Lisa Shulman. The main character is a young girl named Rosie who wants to know what the moon is made of. Rosie's animal friends have different ideas about what the moon is made of, but Gran knows best. She uses ingredients to bake Rosie and her animal friends some cookie moons.
We made sugar cookie moons following the recipe that is included in the back of the book. The cookies were delicious!
*I want to thank Natalie from Mouse Grows, Mouse Learns for writing about this book on her blog.

I've never heard of that book. sounds adorable.
Cute picture of the kids!
Thanks for a new book title too. I've never heard of this one, and the fact that it has a recipe along with it is really neat.
Hope you have a super Mother's Day!!
Awww... they look like they had so much fun!
Stopping by to wish you a Happy Mother's Day!! :-)
Thanks for linking to me! I agree - the cookies turned out great, and the book itself is lovely. I did add a little more flour to them to make them a little less sticky, since we didn't freeze them before baking.
It’s great this book encourages you to cook with your kids. It’s really important to get children involved in the kitchen as soon as possible because home-made meals are usually the healthiest. I work with the Monday Campaigns and we’re looking for blogs to post about cooking with kids as part of our The Kids Cook Monday Campaign. We’ll link to blogs that do posts about cooking with kids and hopefully we’ll get the word out. If you’re interested please email me at jenbrite (at) gmail (dot) com.
