We spent a few hours at the beach this morning. I am truly sad to say that it was probably our last beach trip for the season because school will be starting next week. This summer, I enjoyed the beach more than I ever have.
C and R were both at great ages for beach going and the weather has been so beautiful this year. We belong to a beautiful, family friendly beach with great parking, clean bathrooms, and good food so the whole experience is enjoyable.
R has always loved the water. Playing in the water and trying to ride her boogie board are definitely her favorite activities at the beach.
C likes the water a lot more this year than he has in the past.
His favorite activity at the beach, however, is digging for sand crabs.
He likes to make a "touch tank" filled with rocks, shells, seaweed, crabs, little fish, and whatever else he finds.
His hands usually look like this:
His feet often look like this:
T's favorite activity at the beach this year is sleeping! Ha!
We love to look for shells, and today R found the tiniest shell on the beach.
C was happy to find this shell still intact, but he was disappointed that it was empty.
We had time for a very quick sand castle. Usually, we like to make a tunnel under the sand castle and let our hands or little cars meet underneath, but we were short on time today so we kept it simple.
See you next summer, beach! We will miss almost everything about you. What won't we miss?
The CRAZY food stealing seagulls!
They stole food right out of my lap this summer; they won't keep us away though. We will be back next summer. I have about nine months to come up with some sort of contraption to protect my food! I'm working on it.

The mountains are beautiful - but I do miss the beach!
So-so jealous! Our water is too cold for swimming, and Lars hates sand, so I haven't been able to convince him to go. Maybe we will go next year!
PS - love the pictures, especially those sandy feet and hands. This is the stuff real memories are made of.
That looks like a blast! We haven't really been to the beach all that much, but it's a 6 hour drive for us, so it's a major trip. We're talking about going this fall sometime.
It's weird because here in Texas school has been going on for 2 weeks.
Sooo jealous of your beach - but happy you got a chance to go again before the school year!
Love the pictures! Such joy and happiness!
I know, i keep thinking about all summer "lasts" too :(
No fair! We are nowhere near a beach. It looks like you all had so much fun. LOL at T sleeping. That was probably a pretty nice nap though!
What great photos!! Looks like such a fun trip, and I can't believe the kiddos are starting school again so soon.
Those seagulls are so sneaky! The nerve!!!
recommend a bb gun to keep the seagulls away! :)
That beach looks amazing, and I love the tiny seashell!
Ok, now you made me want to go to the beach...I have to talk to the husband asap. love the pics.
