What does this look like to you?
A few months ago, I purchased something that came in a box with this packaging. I put the packaging aside to be recycled without a thought. C, however, noticed it and decided it was the coolest toy ever! He has been playing with it nonstop since that day.
Recently, I was in Starbucks and noticed the cup holders on the counter and decided it would be the perfect addition to his packaging playset.
C has used his imagination to turn this packaging into forts, mountains, mazes, and battlefields.
Boxes, bubble wrap, tape, string, sticks....it's true, the best toys were never meant to be playthings!

This is great! You gotta love it when your kids are creative and you don't have to spend a dime--a win/win situation:-). Good for you thinking about the cartons at Starbucks too--I see exactly where his creativity comes from!
love it! my son loves to paint a shoe box and use it to carry around sea creatures or just whatever!
very true!
So very true! I only wish there were a way to keep it nicely contained.
very cool. :)
I absolutely agree - that's why I tend to keep some of the packaging "for later". It's amazing how they can turn our recyclables into coolest toys for themselves.
I know tell me about it I laughed and told my hubby i was just getting the girls packing boxes, bubble wrap and packing peanuts for christmas! don't laugh i bet they would love those just as much as a real gift! :)
I totally agree. Hudson will play with elastic bands forever. He also loves to "tie" his cars togeter with pieces of string.
Just stumbled across your blog and had to comment...this is so so true! Sometimes its the little packaging that it the best part of the gift:)
That is a totally fabulous idea! I can't wait to put some packaging aside for my little ones.
That's so cool!! For Emily's birthday one year I included sheets of bubble wrap in the goody bags. Just rolled up bubble wrap tied with ribbon -- it was a HUGE HIT! The rest of the goody bag was largely ignored... go figure!
So true! Every time I empty an egg carton and head for the recycling I think "am I sure I can't think of something fun to do with this!"
HA I love it! Seriously if toys weren't so cool snd I just HAD to buy them, I think we would have plenty to entertain Z with just with all the packaging materials the food comes in!
That is so true. My little bear's favorite "toy" is plastic cups. He loves to stack and sort them. I blogged about it awhile back.
Thanks for sending me the link. I truly enjoyed seeing this :)
