Soccer Season

Another soccer season ended today.

Collin had the first game at 9:00 this morning.  The sun was out, and we were all comfortable (and occasionally too warm) watching him play.  This may be the first time we have ended soccer season with such mild weather!!!!!  Usually, we are freezing with winter coats, gloves, and hot cocoa.

There were only enough players to field a team (does that make sense, field a team, in soccer?  It does, I've decided, because there's a field.  Does field a team even have anything to do with a field?  Can you say that in basketball when there is a court???????  This is what my brain does -- comes up with weird questions!)....so, anyway, a few kids were missing (I wonder if they went to the Red Sox Championship parade!) and all of the kids that did show up had to play the whole game.  Collin didn't mind!

The girls did a lot of this during the game:

We were lucky today that Reagan's game was right after Collin's.  That hasn't been the case most weeks.
Most of her team was there today, so she played the standard two quarters.

I took that last picture just to show how pretty it was this morning.  The sky was a soft blue, and the trees still had enough leaves to make for a beautiful backdrop to the game.

Collin was off playing with friends during Reagan's game.  Kate entertained herself by playing with leaves the whole time.  It doesn't really look like she is playing in this picture, but she picked up a lot of leaves, threw them on her head, and just observed everything around her.
I was going to crop this picture, but I felt that the Doritos bag (yes, Kate was eating gross GMO red dye filled Doritos) was necessary.

But, it is pretty cropped.
It looks like she is pouting or standing in a time out!  Ha ha, as if Kate would stay in a time out.

After a while, she just could not stand having shoes, socks, or leggings on her body any longer.  I'm just lucky that she isn't able to take a dress off yet.

That's it for soccer, until next fall.  We will have our Saturdays pretty free for a while now.  That will be nice.

Kate is so adorable! Brady figured how to get all his clothes off..and took them off the second I put them on him! He was known...by all..as the naked baby! My mother in law...thought it was my laid back nature...so she came out and tried to get him to wear clothes...NOPE HE WAS NAKED WITH HER TOO!

We have not played much soccer, but Chelsea decided she wanted to play this year..and tried out for a select team..with NO experience. She was lucky to make it, but she was the absolutel worse one on the team. The coach said he saw "potential"! It's been a rough season of keeping her head up...the girls she plays with have been playing for years...so it's been tough! But she LOVES it!
Your weather seems to be awesome this fall! I have always wanted to come to Boston in October, and make that whole drive East, with the leaves changing!
