Kate painted on bubble wrap and pressed card stock down on top of the painted bubble wrap.

The result was some pretty unique hearts.

 I folded a paper plate in half and cut out the center and a heart shape to create a fun hat for Kate.  Thank you, Pinterest!

 Both girls made contact paper placemats.

One morning, there was a 90 minute snow delay.  Reagan used that extra time to loop all of these Valentine papers together to create a pretty chain decoration.

Love was the theme of the story hour at Barrington Books last week.  The kids made love bouquets!

Hearts by Kate

 Kate made a sun catcher collage heart decoration for Valentine's Day.  I placed the contact paper heart shape on the sliding glass door, and gave her pieces of tissue paper and foam beads to stick on the heart.

 Kate loves glue sticks!  Since we had plenty of tissue paper left over from the sun catcher, I cut hearts out of cereal box cardboard and left this tray for her to discover.

H is for Hearts

 Kate has fun with the different shaped ice cubes I have been making for her.

 When she was done playing with the ice hearts, she worked hard to put the slightly smaller heart shaped ice cubes back into the tray.  This was all her idea, her way of putting them away!!

I cut an H out of construction paper, and gave Kate some hearts I had punched out.  She really likes to use glue sticks, so she enjoyed gluing hearts on the H.

I merged Kate's H is for hearts theme with our current Christmas theme - candy canes - to make a special treat.

These are super easy to make.  I used regular candy canes, but for less sugar just use the mini candy canes.  I placed the candy canes in heart shape form on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and filled the middle with melted chocolate.  I then added a few sprinkles, and put the baking sheet in the freezer for a few minutes.  It doesn't get much easier.
