Reagan's Birthday Party

We invited a few friends to celebrate Reagan's seventh birthday today.  I think everyone had a great time.  Reagan's theme choice this year was rock stars.

Tom and Tyler hung purple and silver fringe in all of the doorways.  The girls all thought this was pretty cool.

We hung this backdrop in front of the fireplace to create a stage and the karaoke was set up to have the lyrics on the television.  Tom also covered the windows with construction paper to darken the room a bit (you can see it in the top picture) -- I was super impressed that he came up with this idea; great ingenuity!

When the girls arrived, they used markers, stickers, and glitter glue to decorate paper lunch bags to hold all of their goodies.  This worked out really well because it gave the girls something to do while everyone was arriving and all of the girls enjoy crafts!

 Then the singing began!

After the karaoke, the girls made scratch art bracelets.  I LOVE this activity!  It was super easy, not the least bit messy, and all of the girls enjoyed it.  The bracelets are from Melissa and Doug and I found them at Target.

They also made fashion headbands from a kit, but that activity wasn't as easy and I didn't get any pictures.

Then it was time for cake!

Reagan had some trouble blowing out the candles, so her friends helped a little!

The girls could NOT wait to give Reagan the presents they brought her, so we quickly moved on to gift opening.

Just in case you are wondering where the siblings were during all of this party fun:

Collin missed the party because he is sick with an earache and fever.  He didn't seem to mind though because he got to spend the day at Grandma's house, and he loves having Grandma all to himself.  I'm sure he enjoyed that more than hanging out with eight silly girls anyway.

Tyler spent the afternoon with Grandpa.  They went shopping for tennis sneakers and enjoyed a steak dinner together.

Katelyn slept through most of the party.  It's amazing that she slept because the girls were VERY LOUD!!!

After her nap, Kate did enjoy playing with the fringe!!!!

I think the party was a great success and everyone had a lot of fun.
