Eight years ago, on the eighth day of the eighth month at 8:28 PM, Collin came into this world weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces.
Today, he is eight.
He is:
- loving
- sweet
- compassionate
- intelligent
- a strict follower of rules (but not always those set in place by his parents; he follows everyone else's rules exactly); at his party over the weekend, I overheard him exclaiming that there were only supposed to be six children in the bouncy house at a time - that is SO COLLIN!
He loves:
- his family, but is most fond of his baby sister and just cannot get enough of her
- Ninjago
- all things Lego (so much that he wants to go to Germany simply because Lego is a German company)
- grilled cheese
- peanut butter sandwiches
- junk food
- hiking
- riding his bike
- playing the piano
- swimming
- math
- reading books
- science
- art
- school
- spending time with Grandma
We went out for breakfast at Somerset Grille and lunch at Friendly's today at Collin's request.
The wait staff at Friendly's sang a special birthday song to him when they brought over his sand castle sundae.
We are looking forward to another birthday celebration at Grandma's house tonight.

Wow! That was a lot of 8s! Looks like he had a great birthday!
What a wonderful birthday! I completely understand wanting to go to Germany because Legos are made there.
I want that sand castle sunday!
So sweet! LOL about going to Germany, because Legos are made there. My nephew is the same way. We've got to get him to a LegoLand place or something.
What a great birthday!
Happy Birthday, Collin!
Love that baby picture of him!
Seriously???
That is one cool day and moment!
