Last Full Week of Summer Vacation

Where did the summer go?  Sigh.  School starts on Thursday for Collin and Reagan, and on Friday for Tyler.

This week, the three big kids had dentist appointments.  Reagan has her first cavity, and it will be filled on Tuesday.  I feel guilty about this because I used to help her brush her teeth all the time, and I haven't been doing that lately.  The boys are cavity free.

Collin and Reagan also had their hair cut earlier this week.

Collin has been doing some awesome bike riding lately.  He went for a nine mile (I think) ride with Tom earlier this week and he did great.

They rode all over town, stopping at Dunkin Donuts, checking out the construction site for the new high school, exploring some paths in Buffington Park, and more.

Today, Tom and Collin rode their bikes to a swampy area in the woods.  They found this salamander.

Reagan tried a gymnastics class this morning.  She loved it, of course.  Eventually, she is going to have to make some choices - she has too many activities and wants to do everything.  It just isn't possible.

Tyler had two football scrimmages this week and is ready for their first game next weekend.  He had a nice punt in the varsity scrimmage today.

Tom and I went to the beach with Collin, Reagan, and Katelyn this afternoon.  I am pretty sure that it was our last beach trip of the year.  The weather was nice and everyone had a great time.  We didn't get to the beach much this year, but all of our visits were a lot of fun.

Collin and Reagan didn't play in the water for very long; the water is already cold!  They spent a lot of time digging in the sand and they had a great time playing in the dunes by themselves.

Kate was funny at the beach today.  She has changed so much from our first beach trip.  Today, she wanted to sit right in the water (she didn't care that the water was cold) and she got angry if I tried to pick her up.  She ate at least three fistfuls of sand and didn't even cry.

Oh, summer, I am not ready to say goodbye.

That is so funny that Kate has changed her opinion about the beach so much!

Emma starts school Wednesday and Johnny and Lily on Friday. I can't believe Lily is going to be a preschooler.

Love Reagan's braid!

Wow, school starts late for ya'll! Public schools here started last week, and I was thinking that was late this year.

Sounds like you are all ready for a school year and enjoyed the last week of summer. Sorry about the cavity - how did Reagan do with getting it fixed? I love her haircut!

That is so cool that Collin and Tom can go on long bike rides. We have too many hills in our neighborhood to do so. Once you get down, you'll never get back up. LOL!

Reagan's braid is so pretty.

The beach looks fun too. Bummer about the water being cold.
