Ice Skating

R has been taking ice skating lessons for a few weeks now.  She loves it!  It is amazing to me how quickly she has picked it up.  The women who teach the lessons are great.  They began by teaching the kids how to fall and how to get up and they did not give them chairs or crates to push.  The kids had to learn how to skate without aids and I think that is why they have learned so quickly.

After R's lesson, it takes me all day to warm up.  The ice rink is one of the coldest places on earth!!  I don't mind though; it's worth it.

She looks like she's having fun -- a little unsure, but fun!

I've been wanting to start Nani with skating lessons, but it just keep slipping my mind! Putting a reminder on my calendar today!

That is so cool! Now I'm wondering if there's a rink near us that offers lessons...

This is so neat. Selena's mom was an ice skater, I still have her skates. Too bad we don't have a rink near us it would be fun to see what Selena thought of it. Great Job R!

That's on my list to do someday. I need to see if I can rope Jeff into going with me. Three kids by myself there, no thank you.

That is so cool! Ice rinks are cold though. I remember going to hockey games and freezing!

We don't have a rink nearby - that's been my only disappointment with western Montana. A little further east, and the kids could be skating. R looks so cute!

I am always amazed that R is so athletic - she looks like she is having fun! Are there open rinks in MA in the winter?

This looks like fun! I would have loved this as a kid.

Sorry about the doughnuts, didn't mean to start a craving. If it helps, I originally wanted Drake's coffee cakes and we couldn't find them here in the south!

It's great she's taking lessons for ice skating. Hanna really wants to, but they closed the rink near us that used to give them. We'd have to drive about an hour and a half away each week.

I hope R continues to enjoy her lessons and learns a lot! She looks like she is really concentrating.
