Summer Bucket List

It's really hard to write a summer bucket list when it's fifty degrees and rainy.  Further, while R is finishing up with preschool this month, T and C will be in school until the end of June, so we won't begin tackling our list for a while yet.

We had a lot of fun with our list last summer, so I thought I would create a new one (with a few old favorites) for this summer.  Here it is:

  1. Make lemonade
  2. Make sun tea
  3. Visit a museum
  4. Go blueberry picking
  5. Read a lot of books and make a new summer reading mural
  6. Play miniature golf
  7. Go to the beach
  8. Create art
  9. Cook together
  10. Become better swimmers
  11. Work on bike riding (the training wheels came off this spring, but we still need a lot of work)
  12. Try a new food
  13. Make homemade ice cream
  14. Make rainbow popsicles
  15. Make Oobleck
  16. Make face paint
  17. Have a water balloon fight
  18. Learn a new joke
  19. Tie dye
  20. Play board games (we don't do this enough)
  21. Go playground hopping
  22. Go see Waterfire
  23. Make fizzing sidewalk chalk (I saw this posted on the summer bucket list at Little Piles Everywhere  and I could not resist adding it to our list)
  24. Surprise someone with an act of kindness

I like those ideas! Surprise someone with an act of kindness would be fun to do. My kids certainly loved doing that for Easter.

Summer is my favorite season. I can't decide if I want to pin it in with a list, or just enjoy it in an easy going, lazy way.

You have a lot of fun ideas on your list! Will the kids be in camps at all this summer or at home?

I love your list, especially #24! I haven't decided whether to make a list or see what happens...

Love your list! My kids would think it so much fun to do a random act of kindness. I've seen a few new blogs make lists and link back to me, so when I sit down again tonight, I'll open the party up. I'd love it if you would link you list up.

Love your list! We are still in the process of ours as we don't get out of school until June 22. Can you tell me more about your reading mural?? Do you right down all the books you read during the summer? I think that would be a fun and proud way to celebrate all the books read!!

What a great idea about an act of kindness. I want to add it to my list. I hope better weather will come soon to MA.

I'm not very good at making summer lists...we live so spontaneous!

You know, I have never made one of these lists, but always say I am and love reading others'.

Yours is full, and full of lots of fun things too! I hope you get them all in and have a super fun Summer!

I love #20, so I'll piggy back on yours and make that one of ours too :) We LOVE board games, and we never play. My kids love to play, and we get too busy. So, it's definitely something we want to do again.
