That is funny, the same thing is happening to our pumpkins! We've never had this problem until this year. I wasn't sure if it was the squirrels of the deer.

I had squirrels break one of our coolers one time trying to get inside it.......But, at least you got pictures and this will be a great story someday, about the year the squirrels ate the pumpkin.
Sunday our neighbors had two pumpkins; Monday one plus a stem, and today half a pumpkin plus a stem. Squirrels...
Wow! Squirrels will eat any and everything! They have eaten holes in my mom's patio furniture and deck boxes. I hope your pumpkins make it!
