Traditions

Who breaks the wishbone in your house?  C and R own the rights around here right now.  This year, I thought R got the bigger half, but C and R both said it broke right down the middle so they are both expecting their wishes to come true.

We began a new tradition this year - The Elf on the Shelf has visited our house.  C and R named him Cherry.  This morning, they found him sitting on this giraffe!  Do you have an elf?

Decorating a gingerbread house is something C and R always look forward to after Thanksgiving.  This is the one they decorated together this year.

I love this time of year.

I love this time of year, too! We are planning to decorate gingerbread houses, too - kits from IKEA this year, although I think I have to make icing and provide candy. I'm curious to see how they turn out - I love C and R's creation!

I've thought of trying an elf on the shelf - maybe next year. And we completely forgot about the wishbone Thursday!

Didn't even think about the wishbone on Thursday. Well it is in the freezer for soup so we can do it then. Love their Gingerbread House.

I almost did Elf on the Shelf, but didn't follow through. I've seen some super cute ideas for it!

We saved the wishbone, but forgot to break it! Matthew and Abby were going to try it. We'll have to do it next weekend.

I also have a gingerbread house kit, but we usually do that closer to Christmas.

We don't have an Elf, but it's cute!

I've never heard of an Elf on the Shelf!

Great traditions! We don't do Elf on the Shelf, but I was hoping to find some elf books to read later in the year. I like your tradition to decorate a gingerbread house early. Traditionally, Anna and her friend have a playdate right around Christmas, and then we are stuck with the house until February :)

Traditions are the best and I think that's what makes this time of year so special. That wishbone picture is priceless, Christy. You are going to LOVE looking back at it years from now.

Their gingerbread house turned out amazing! Yours always looks so good and tempts me each year to want to make one here, but then I remember how awful mine turn out and change my mind :-). LOVE yours though!
