Jockey Silks

Our current state for our Fifty States Project is Kentucky and we are getting ready for the Kentucky Derby.  C and R decorated Jockey Silks that we cut out of craft paper.

Here are a few pictures:

C decided that he did not want his face in the picture; he is hiding behind his shirt.

They used Roll It painters and Do A Dot markers to decorate the Jockey Silks.  I cannot seem to find Roll It painters anywhere (we bought ours about a year ago), but you can click here for a product that looks like the same thing but has a different name.

just wondering how you find time to do these wonderful projects with both C and R, since he's in school now. seems like i don't have time now that my daughter's in school to do as much with her as i'd like! plus, she's tired and cranky when she gets home and not all that interested! any advice?

I am curious with what you responded to Danita, because I am wondering the same :) It's great that you still spend a lot of time with C, and I am always enjoying to see his art (even when his face is hiding under it)

@Danita - In response to your question, it's definitely harder to find time to do projects with C now that he is in school all day. For him, however, crafts and projects at home are a stress reliever. He wants to do things as soon as he gets in the door. I have to be organized though. I have everything set up and ready to go before he gets home and then he can choose whether to do it or not. Sometimes he does it right away, and sometimes he does it while I'm cooking or before bed. It's rare that he decides not to do it, but if he does, I'm okay with that too. I hope this answers your question.

Fun idea! Diego hides from the camera a lot too. I think it is great that you still do projects even though C is in school. I am sure it harder to find the time but so worth it!

I like both of these, but R's has really got me with all of the designs and colors she used!

You did some really fun and cute activities for this theme.
