Leaf collages for stArt

Fall Leaves Fall! by Zoe Hall is the subject of our stArt project this week. This book highlights all of the fun ways to enjoy the falling leaves of Autumn.

C and R picked up a few leaves in our yard and decided to make collages with them.

My plan was for them to use markers or crayons to draw details and turn the leaves into pictures just like the characters in the book, but C and R were not interested. They liked the collages the way they were, and that was okay too!

They did a great job! I'd had visions of leaf people/animals too last week, but it never happened here either:-).

I love their collages!

We used this book for our stART project for next week!! One of my favorites.

I bet they had fun doing all of the steps in this project!

I think it's great you let them take the project where they saw it - that's not always easy to do!

We did a Leaf Man a couple of weeks back, and the result was the same - no leaf people, but good time outside hunting leaves and gluing them to the paper. Your projects look really neat too! We also love this book - Anna asked to keep it for another week.

Cute! Your kids are like mine. I tried to get mine to turn leaves into animals a few weeks ago and all they wanted was to make abstract collages. At least they have fun! BTW, I have an award for you so come visit my blog. :)

I love their collages! We read that book too and I loved the artwork in it. This is a great activity to go with the book.

I love how everyone seems to be doing similar topics. My son and have been doing lessons on fall and specifically leaves this week, too. I actually tried to get that book at our library, but it was checked out. Thanks for the idea.

I've just discovered stART and am so excited as it is basically what my entire blog is about - kids books, and the activities they inspire me and my kids to get up to - so I found you via A Mommy's Adventures, and I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts :-)
