Caterpillars!

Our caterpillar larvae arrived! We are looking forward to observing the metamorphosis of our caterpillars.

C and R have enjoyed listening to the following books about caterpillars and butterflies:
From Caterpillar to Butterfly by Deborah Heiligman
Monarch and Milkweed by Helen Frost and Leonid Gore
Butterfly Butterfly by Petr Horacek
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
Fancy Nancy Bonjour Butterfly by Jane O'Connor

This will be so much fun!! Have you guys ever done this? Have you seen my post about our caterpillars back in May (or April)? We have done this each year since Hanna was about 5--LOVE it!! One of my favorite things:-)!

Can't wait to see what your butterfly looks like eventually!

We have been searching high and low for caterpillars in the wild--to no avail. Guess we should have ordered some. :(

we happened upon a caterpillar and watched it turn into a moth - what fun!

I have a butterfly kit to send off for the larve, but I think we're going to do the ant farm next :)

We have milkweed in our yard and each year we catch caterpillars and watch them change. This year my 3 yr old is really interested in them. I already blogged about it and I am planning on posting updates. So fun
